Biography
Erika Wilhite serves as the Arts Learning in Communities Director at the Oklahoma Arts Council, where she works with organizations providing arts education in community settings across the state. She oversees initiatives that expand access to the arts, including arts and health, creative aging and arts and military programs.
Previously, Erika founded and led Artist’s Laboratory Theatre in Fayetteville, Ark., a company dedicated to creating site-specific, community-devised theatre that explored social issues and elevated local stories and perspectives. As a teaching artist, she also designed and led community-based theatre residencies for incarcerated adults, justice-involved youth, and veterans referred through the VA hospital system. Her work is grounded in the belief that meaningful arts experiences can strengthen individual well-being, foster connection, and build more vibrant communities.
