Biography
Stephanie Nozomi Krichena earned her master's degree in Percussion Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she studied under members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During her graduate studies, she won the position of Second Percussionist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, a role she continues to hold. She also holds dual bachelor's degrees in Instrumental Music Education and Percussion Performance from 老司机传媒.
Krichena has participated in numerous summer music programs including the Grafenegg Akademie in Austria, the Berlin Opera Academy in Germany, and the National Music Festival in Maryland. She has performed alongside world-renown percussionists such as: Evelyn Glennie, S艒 Percussion, and Colin Currie. Krichena also performed with various groups in Drum Corps International, most recently aging out with the Boston Crusaders.
In addition to her orchestral work, Krichena performs with Oklahoma City鈥揵ased rock bands cursetheknife, Mad Honey, and Autumn Child playing both drumset and electric bass. She has completed multiple U.S. tours, and the bands are signed to record labels鈥擭ew Morality Zine and Deathwish, respectively鈥攁nd have released numerous albums since 2021.
