Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

At Kramer School of Nursing, we prioritize the academic success and integrity of our programs. To comply with the guidelines, Kramer School of Nursing does not offer Curricular Practical Training (CPT). According to USCIS guidelines, CPT must be an integral part of an established curriculum. Our programs require clinical/practicum hours that are embedded in individual courses and are not eligible for pay and/or employment ÀÏ˾»ú´«Ã½ benefits. We understand that practical experience is valuable, and we encourage students to explore other opportunities such as Optional Practical Training (OPT) after completing their degree. For more information on OPT and other work authorization options, please contact our International Admissions Office.

KSN gives you 94 hours of course credit for your active RN license, experience, certifications and continuing education.

The BSN requires a total of 124 credit hours:

• 72 hours for an active, unencumbered U.S. RN license
• 30 credit hours taken at ÀÏ˾»ú´«Ã½
  • 18 credit hours in nursing courses
  • 12 credit hours of general education courses
• 22 transfer, portfolio and/or additional credits from ÀÏ˾»ú´«Ã½. to view the nursing portfolio information.

Most students can finish their full degree in as little as nine months, with multiple start dates for online students and a fall start date for in-person students. Contact us to evaluate your transcript and see what courses you will need to complete.

First 8-week block:

Professional Nursing
Health Assessment
Adult Degree Completion Program courses and/or nursing electives

Second 8-week block:
Community Health Nursing
Adult Degree Completion Program courses and/or nursing electives

SECOND SEMESTER (14 Credit Hours) 

First 8-week block:
Nursing Research
Adult Degree Completion Program courses and/or nursing electives

Second 8-week block:
Nursing Leadership
Adult Degree Completion Program courses and/or nursing electives

The BSN graduate of ÀÏ˾»ú´«Ã½'s Kramer School of Nursing will function as a professional nurse able to: 

• Demonstrate clinical competence in the provision of ethical and legal nursing care.
• Collaborate with and educate clients regarding self-care activities designed to promote health, restore wellness and prevent illness.
• Utilize the nursing process as a critical thinking framework for problem solving and making effective clinical judgments.
• Promote physical, mental, social and spiritual health across the life span within diverse cultures.
• Manage, coordinate, and delegate care of clients within and in collaboration with the healthcare system.
• Exemplify the caring behaviors of acceptance of, respect for and empathy with the client.
